Maine Lobster Festival, La Kermesse cancel this year’s events due to coronavirus concerns

Both festivals announced plans to hold events in 2022.


Two more popular summer festivals have been postponed for 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.Organizers of the La Kermesse Franco-Americaine Heritage Festival in Biddeford announced the cancellation of this year’s event. This year’s Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland is also canceled.Both festivals announced plans to hold events in 2022.”We have worked with our board, our city and the state guidelines, and despite looking at dozens of other options, we have regretfully concluded that we can not safely hold our event in 2021,” the Maine Lobster Festival posted on its Facebook page.La Kermesse will celebrate its 39th festival once it resumes, while the Maine Lobster Festival will celebrate its 75th.
