Teen said he was afraid to go home, worried his father would ‘beat him again’

Omaha police have cited a local father after the man’s son told a school counselor he was afraid to go home. Officers were called Friday, March 26, to Westside Middle School. A school counselor said a 14-year-old student reported that he was afraid to go home, “because he was worried that his father would beat him again.”The teen told officers his father struck him with a belt on the arm several times the day before. He said his father also punched him in the head and kicked him in the leg.Police took photos of the teen. The 40-year-old father was cited for child abuse.
